Screen Shot 2015-03-23 at 4.53.00 PMWHITE CO.— There is no better place to remind those who probably don’t need reminding that “stupid is as stupid does” than the drug report.

And the White County doper news begins with the arrest of yet another drug convict.

It appears Nicholas Andrew Talley, 28, of 716 Burrell St., Carmi, didn’t learn much from his 2014 conviction.

Talley was busted and charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Use of Black-Jack/Knife and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.

After pleading to the paraphernalia and knife charge on February 4, 2014, in return for the remaining drug charges being dismissed, Talley was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail, two years probation and ordered to pay $1,897, of which he has paid nothing.

Now, a little more than a year later Mr. Talley was the subject of a traffic stop for Driving Without a License and subsequently charged with much the same thing.

On Feb. 11 he was taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, identified as a pipe used to smoke weed, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.

Talley was released from police custody after a $3,000 cash bond was posted on his behalf by Amanda Talley of Norris City.

From bad check to meth

Marcie J. Locke, also known as Christy D. Smith, also known as Marcie J. Eichorn-Smith, 39, of Madisonville, Ky., has been charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine after authorities say on March 12 she was found to have less than five grams of the drug on her person.

She was also charged with a single count of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia identified as a straw used to sniff meth and in a separate case, Obstruction of Justice/Destroying Evidence.

At the time of her arrest, Locke was serving a two-year conditional discharge sentence handed down September 10, 2013 after she was convicted of writing a bad check.

In that case she was also ordered to pay $567.60 in fines and fees, of which she has paid nothing.

Cash bond in her most recent case has been set at $250.
